For those of you that don’t know me, I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and make you aware of a change that has taken place in the junior high this year. Due to her jam-packed academic schedule, Mrs. Berkey (my big sister) has turned over the reins of the Junior High Coordinator position to me!
Having taught junior high for several years now, I realize just how special and challenging this time of life is for young people and for you as parents as you seek God’s wisdom on how best to see your child through all the changes that come with these “in-between” years. With that in mind, I am truly looking forward to partnering with you and the junior high teachers in order to make junior high a great experience for each child.
One of my goals this year is to create some special programs that will be specifically for the junior high—not just extensions of the high school. I met with the kids last Friday in order to explain some of these new plans, so please be sure to ask your child about them!
If you need to contact me, you can reach me by phone during my free hour from 1:10-1:55 or after school from 3:40-4:00 or you can always reach me via email. Also, please remember, as stated in the handbook, if you have a question or concern regarding a teacher, please request a conference with that teacher first. If, however, you still feel you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Another way you can help make this year successful is to take some time to review the student handbook and each teacher’s class expectations with your child. Some of the rules and procedures change a bit from year to year.
Also, please remember to check RenWeb frequently for updates on school news, grades, assignments, etc. As you know, communication is extremely important, and RenWeb is a wonderful tool for teachers, parents, and students!
Finally, please pray for your child’s teachers throughout the year. We truly appreciate your faithfulness and your commitment to Christian education.
Looking forward to a wonderful year!
